Woman, thy name is multitasking

Even the greatest of all thespians at the peak of his career must not have enacted the number of roles that a single woman plays in her lifetime. Daughter, wife, daughter-in-law, sister, mother, career woman...the list is endless.

Popular opinion says that women are biologically and physiologically made that way - they are born to multi-task, but that is not the whole truth. Women fulfill all these roles, most of the time successfully, because they want to. There are many ways in which they achieve the well-deserved “super-woman” moniker…

1. Prioritise, proiritise, prioritise

2. Concentrating fully on the task at hand. Easier said than done, I know, but it works.

3. Patience - loads and loads of it.

4. Support system - parents, in-laws, servants, crèches, baby-sitters, even the ubiquitous "free home delivery" system of the neighborhood grocer.

5. Taking time off, even a few minutes a day, for themselves. This is very important for relaxation and rejuvenation before plunging into the next bout of multi-tasking.

The above list is certainly not exhaustive, it is not meant to be. Every woman has her own method of multi-tasking…over a period of time and with experience, most women develop their own ways to deal with the myriad problems and issues that life throws at them in their various role plays
